The meeting took place just last month. This is the second meeting between Modi and Gabbard in two months. They met during their US tour in February 2025. Gabbard is on a visit to India on Sunday. Gabbard is the first senior official of the new US administration to visit India during President Donald Trump's second term.
Apart from this, she also met India's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Tulsi Gabbard held a meeting with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. In this, there was an in-depth discussion on the topic of strengthening the existing defense relations between the two countries, especially the use of state-of-the-art defense technology and jointly developing the technology related to it. According to the information received from the meeting, India has shown full commitment to cooperation in the defense sector and has also raised the issue of pro-Khalistan activities in America. The Defense Minister has once again asked the US administration to take concrete action against the Khalistani supporters who are conspiring against India.
Apart from all this, Tulsi Gabbard has also met National Security Advisor Ajit Doval a day earlier. In this meeting, the subject of sharing intelligence information between the two countries was discussed. How to improve the sharing of information related to terrorism and illegal drug trade has been a topic of discussion. Gabbard has also participated in the meeting of the heads of intelligence departments of many countries of the world on behalf of India. Apart from America, heads of intelligence departments of Canada, Britain and other countries also participated in this meeting.
